Brieanna will be sixteen years old, 16. Lord where did the time go? I know how youth and innocence have a tendancy to sneak off when nobody is looking....but it seems like only yesterday she was just a kid. Now she has a learner's permit, a desperate yearning to drive, acne, serious boy crush type stuff, and all the fun of being a teen female on top of the rest of that. Saturday, the 25th, we are throwing a party to celebrate her 16 years with us. It is going to be beautiful and rememberable.
Long ago, when Brieanna was three, I came into her life as her step-mom. Life has since thrown many a curve and unexpected bump in the way. But we made it through to 16. :) To have at least survived that is monumental.
I don't know what the future might hold in it's grip, we can only face it together.
My oldest son Christopher ask me today, Mom do you regret having boys instead of having girls. I looked him in the face and I told him that I wouldn't trade him or his brother James for all the gold on the Earth.
I mean that.
